How I review AI tools (and how I make money from this blog)

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Read the full disclosure.

There are hundreds of AI tools, and every one of them says it will change your work. Most reviews I read are either too technical or too excited. I wanted something simpler: a real person using the tool for real tasks and then saying what happened.

This page explains how I do that, so you can decide how much to trust what you read here.

My testing routine

  1. Pick a real task. I use the tool for something I actually need to do, not a demo prompt.
  2. Use the free plan first. If a tool only works well on a paid plan, I say so.
  3. Try it more than once. One good result proves nothing. I repeat the task over several days.
  4. Write down the problems. Slow answers, wrong answers, confusing menus and hidden limits all go in the review.

The five checks

Every review is scored on the same five questions, so you can compare one tool with another.

Easeof usePrice$Earn orsave moneyPersonaland workIdeasfor youThe same five questions for every tool

1. Is it easy to use?

Can a beginner sign up and get a useful result in about ten minutes, without watching a long tutorial?

2. Is it worth the price?

I list what the free plan gives you, what the paid plan adds, and who should actually pay.

3. Can it earn or save money?

I look at whether the tool can bring in income or cut your costs, and I say so plainly when it cannot.

4. Does it work for personal and work use?

I say whether the tool helps at home, at your job, or both.

5. What ideas does it give you?

I share extra ways to use the tool that you may not have thought of.

How this blog makes money

I want to be direct about this. ThoufAI makes money in one way today, and I plan to add a second:

  • Affiliate links. Some tools pay me a commission if you sign up through my link. It costs you nothing extra.
  • Ads. I plan to show ads in the future, once the site has more visitors. I will update the site’s policies before any ads appear.
TodayAffiliatelinksSame price for you.I may earn a small fee.LaterAds(planned)Only after more visitors.Policies updated first.

I mark affiliate links clearly. A tool does not get a better review because it pays me, and I will write a negative review of a tool that has an affiliate programme if it deserves one.

The short version

Real tasks, the same five checks every time, and a clear note whenever I earn money from a link.
